Top Band Detail
- Top Band is the driving band located directly in front of a crimp groove (if one exists) and next to the bore ride or nose portion of the bullet.
- Length may be edited as desired.
- Lower Dia. is the band edge next to the crimp groove. Default is the same as As Cast Diameter and may be edited as needed.
- Top Dia is the band edge next to the Bore Ride or Nose Ogive. Default is the same as Lower Dia. and may be edited to provide a tapered top band.
-
- Leade Angle is the angle formed by the step down from the Top Band front diameter to the Bore Ride or Nose diameter and may be used to provide a tapered transition from the top band to the nose diameter. Upon exiting the Leade Angle field, the Leade Length will be automatically calculated and subtracted from the front band length. If the calculated leade length is greater than the Top Band Length, the Top Band will be extended to an appropriate length.
- Leade Length is the distance from the Top Band leading edge to the point where the Leade Angle contacts the nose diameter. After editing and upon exiting the Leade L. field, the Leade Angle will be calculated to the appropriate value.
