Wind Drift Calculations

The time of flight to each indicated range is used to calculate the wind drift at that range for the displayed wind velocity in both inches and  in minutes-of-angle.

The selection of the wind direction assumes the shooter is facing the target, the target is taken as 12 O'Clock and the position of the shooter is taken as 6 O'Clock on the face of an imaginary clock.

After displaying the readings from the different direction settings, it can be observed that the deflection of winds from the directions of 1, 5, 7 and 11 O'Clock will be just 1/2 the value of the deflections from winds blowing from the directions of 3 and 9 O'Clock .  It may also be noted that the deflection of winds from the 2, 4, 6 and 8 O'Clock directions will show displacements of 86.6% the amount of deflection from winds blowing from the 3 and 9 O'Clock directions.

Clicking the  button will activate a preview of a printout that will display table of wind drift values for all the ranges that have been calculated. If satisfied with the print preview, click either the Print Setup icon to adjust printer options or the Print icon to commence printing the Wind Drift database as shown below.
