Bore Ride Nose Detail
A bore riding bullet nose is just what the name implies. The nose of the bullet rides upon the top of the lands and is not engraved by the lands (except for perhaps a very small amount). This value will be very near or slightly under the diameter of the rifeled bore (Not the rifled groove diameter).
The Length of the bore riding section may be adjusted to determine the value of the ogive radius. The shorter the bore ride section, the longer the nose ogive radius and vice versa.
The bore ride section may also be used to create a straight nose taper before the ogive or truncated cone section begins.
