Bullet Image Control
Bullet Images in JPG format only may be stored and viewed for each bullet listed in the database. The size of the frame is 1.77" wide and 2.34" high, or with a 96 pixels-per-inch resolution, the size is 170 pixels wide X 226 pixels high. If the image edge dimensions ratio is 3 units wide by 4 units high the image will stretch or shrink to fit the frame with no distortion when the "Stretch / Center Picture" box is checked. However if the image is smaller than the frame, stretching will cause loss of resolution. If the image is considerably larger than the frame and of a 3 / 4 ratio it may be stored and viewed but will needlessly use file storage resources.
You may use the "Find Bullet Image in Files" to locate a Jpeg image which has previously been stored on your computer and then save the image into the frame. When the "Find" button is clicked, a File Search Window will open a directory named BulletPics.
This directory was created during the software installation at C:\Program files\TMT\Precision\AllNew\BulletPics as a place to store and retrieve bullet images. The File Search Window has the capabilities to browse your computer to locate files stored in other directories.
The process that was used to create the bullet photos contained in the software is as follows.
1. Snap a close-up picture of the bullet with a digital camera using a background and lighting setup that will provide a clear picture.
2. Load the picture in to the computer's imaging software.
3. Use the image software to size and crop the picture to 170 X 226 pixels. and then convert the image to a jpg format.
4. Save the image to the directory C:\Program files\TMT\Precision\AllNew\BulletPics.
5. The "Find Picture" process was used to place a copy of the image in the bullet image record.
The "Save / Delete Picture" button will offer the opportunity to save and/or delete the displayed image. During the save process, the software will automatically label the image with the Manufacturer's name and index number.
